Partner for Youth's Summer Youth Job Training Program (SYJTP) offers Lexington youth the opportunity to gain work experience and develop interpersonal skills. Participants will learn and explore career interests for six weeks during the summer. Local businesses and community organizations join our public-private partnership by serving as worksites for 300 youth who are rising 10th, 11th and 12th-grade high school students. Youth workers will work part-time, up to 20 hours per week, and earn $15 an hour. The city government pays all youth workers’ salaries.
SYJTP also has a High School Senior Co-Op employment training component. This training opportunity is extended to high school seniors who are on the Work Based Learning track at their school. Students and/or partners reach out to us to interview for placement within Partners for Youth.
